Warhawks Conclude Lengthy Road Trip With Three Conference Matches

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery women's tennis team will end their four-match Gulf South Conference road trip with three matches in six days against Shorter, Christian Brothers and Delta State.  
 
About the Warhawks
The Warhawks (4-10, 2-2 GSC) are coming off just their second conference defeat of the season against #46 Mississippi College. After the road trip, the Orange & Black will play three of their final four matches at the AUM Tennis Complex.
 
Julia Enderink has solidified herself as one of the best singles players as of late, winning her last two matches against conference opponents. In 2019, Enderink has five singles victories, paired with three doubles wins.
 
Sofia Navarro has found herself with a winning record when playing in the third position for the Warhawks, earning a 5-3 record in that slot. Navarro, like Enderink, has won her past two matches.
 
Despite losing her last singles match, Tonja Foessmeier has a 6-2 record over her last ten matches in singles play and has earned victories in three different position for head coach Yair Banuelos. The sophomore has also netted four doubles victories in 2019.

About the Hawks
Shorter (3-9, 0-6 GSC) have lost their last four matches and have netted just three victories all season. The Hawks last victory came against Wallace Community College on March 13.
 
Aleksandra Durzynski leads the team with nine victories in singles play this season, all of them coming in the first position for the Hawks. Durzynski will head into the match with AUM with two-straight wins in both doubles and singles competition.
 
The pairing of Anastasia Jovicic and Martina Radinovic has netted a team-high seven victories in doubles play in 2019 and have won their previous two matches against opponents in the second slot.

About the Lady Bucs
Christian Brothers (5-11, 1-6 GSC) have also stumbled of late, losing their last four matches and have registered just one conference victory this season. Their lone win came against Shorter on February 16.
 
Judit Aubets Macia is second overall in wins on her squad, with six singles wins in 2019. Macia is, however, 3-7 over her last ten matches exclusively in the first slot for the Lady Bucs.
 
Laura Brazuelo is 9-9 on the season and leads Christian Brothers in wins. Brazuelo has seen time in the second position all season and is 5-4 over her last nine matches. She also ranks first in doubles victories with seven.

About the Lady Statesmen
Delta State (3-12, 1-4 GSC) had been shutout in four consecutive matches before defeating Mississippi University for Women 7-0 in their previous match on March 30. The Lady Statesmen will face NAIA opponent Blue Mountain College on April 1 before facing AUM on Sunday.
 
Fabiola Cardenas leads the Lady Statesmen with seven wins in the first position and is 3-6 in her last nine matches. However, in doubles play, her and teammate Nathalia Sato have combined for a 9-4 record in doubles play.
 
Sato also has four singles victories and is 4-9 in singles competition this season, playing exclusively in the second slot. She is also coming off a victory over her opponent in Delta State's previous match.
