DAHLONEGA, Ga. - Auburn University at Montgomery women's tennis opened its fall schedule this weekend at the UNG Fall Invitational in Dahlonega, Georgia, competing in singles and doubles action against teams from across the region.
HIGHLIGHTS
Mercedes Garcia Cid picked up a notable singles victory over North Georgia's Olesya Stokusova, 7-5, 6-3, a nationally ranked top-20 opponent before facing Columbus State's Claudia De Lucas Rivera.
In doubles action, Alexandra Gasser and Ana Clara Campigotta claimed the Flight C West division title, defeating North Georgia's Lauryn Swatski and Victoria Niox Chateau, 6-4. Sibylle Braure and Beril Tatlilik also secured a doubles victory over Lenoir-Rhyne's Alexa Allison and Molly McWethy in the Flight B South draw.
Int he singles portion, the women went 3-3 in first-round singles matches. Due to inclament weather, singles matches were left unfinished.

- Mercedes Garcia Cid defeated North Georgia's Olesya Stokusova, 7-5, 6-3, before falling to Columbus State's Claudia De Lucas Rivera, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).
- Sibylle Braure earned a victory over Young Harris College's Karolina Johnsen due to injury.
- Nagisa Yonezawa defeated Young Harris' Emma Baldassari in a match decided by a tiebreak, 7-6 (7-4), 10-6
- Beril Tatlilik fell to North Georgia's Victoria Niox Chateau, 6-1, 6-0.
- Beril Tatlilik earned a victory over Young Harris' Lexie Gillespie due to injury.
- Alexandra Gasser defeated North Georgia's Lauryn Swatski in a match featuring a tiebreak, 3-6, 7 [10], 5 [7].
- Ana Clara Campigotta defeated Lenoir-Rhyne's Molly McWethy, 6-0, 6-1.
