How it Happened
- In the 19' minute, Mendez was able to give the Warhawks their first lead of the season when she took a pass from
Milian Mollison to the top right of the penalty box. Mendez then sidestepped the Rams' keeper to net her third goal of the season and register point 101 of her career.
- Following the goal, the Golden Rams were on the attack for the remainder of the second half, forcing Kistler to make a variety of stops in high danger areas.
- Albany State was finally able to break through the Warhawk defense in the 39' minute when Ramafifi netted her first goal of the game when she found herself in front of an open net after Kistler misplayed a ball outside the box.
- The Golden Rams were able to take the lead right before halftime in the 44' minute when Ramafifi took a pass from teammate Lovisa Mulunga and slotted the ball past Kistler to give ASU a 2-1 lead going into the half.
- Albany State would record the next nine shots on goal to open the second half of play, but once again Kistler and the AUM defense held strong to keep the game at a 2-1 deficit.
- The Warhawks were able to muster some offense in the 76' minute when Mollison and
Mayson Jaindl had a pair of chances to give the Warhawks the lead, but their shots were met by the opposing keeper's gloves.
- Albany State would seal the fate of the game just moments later when Aliyah Armijo took a shot from outside the box and pounded the ball into the upper right corner of the net past the outstretched Kistler.
