The Auburn Montgomery volleyball team will open Gulf South Conference play this week when they host the University of Montevallo on Tuesday, West Alabama on Friday and Mississippi College on Saturday as the Warhawks will look to stay undefeated at home in 2019.

About the Warhawks
AUM is now 6-3 on the season with a 2-0 mark at home, a 0-1 mark on the road and a 4-2 mark at neutral sites. The Warhawks currently rank fourth in the GSC in digs (16.91 per set), fifth in hitting percentage (.197), fifth in kills (11.97 per set), fifth in service aces (1.51 per set) and sixth in assists (10.91 per set).

Sophomore setter
Isadora Nicolai is third in the league and tops the Warhawks in assists with 9.41 per set. Nicolai is also fifth in the conference in service aces with 15.

Senior middle blocker
Jaylyn Felder leads the team and is fifth in the GSC in hitting percentage with a mark of .342. Fellow middle blocker
Ariadne Borges leads the team and is eighth in the league in blocks averaging 1.04 per set.

Junior libero/outside hitter
Carla Butler is seventh in the GSC in digs, posting 4.31 per frame. Sophomore outside hitter
Nyah Whittlesey leads the team in kills per set, averaging 3.16 per frame which ranks ninth in the league.

Senior outside hitter
Sommer Rhea leads the team in points and kills having notched 103.0 points and 94 kills on the young season. Rhea is also second on the team in digs with 103.

About The Falcons
Montevallo is currently 6-6 on the season with a 1-1 record on the road. They have lost two in a row heading into Tuesday's contest, going 1-2 at the UWA Tournament this past weekend.

The Falcons are led offensively by senior middle blocker Brioni Dixon who is averaging 3.04 kills per set and 3.68 points per set. Dixon has tallied 137 kills this season and a team-high 48.0 blocks. Junior outside hitter Evelina Teran is second on the team in kills with 131 and is third on the team in blocks (28.0) and digs (92).

Sophomore setter Savannah Roys leads the offense for the Falcons and has amassed 426 assists on the season. Fellow sophomore Skyler Siber leads the team in digs with 203 from her libero position.

This will be the fourth meeting between the two schools with UM holding a 3-0 advantage.

About the Tigers
UWA is 5-7 on the season with five of their losses coming against Top-25 opponents. In fact, the Tigers first five matches of the season were against ranked opponents, including their season opener against #2 Cal State-San Bernadino on Sept. 5.

The Tigers have won five of their last six matches including going 2-1 at their own tournament this past weekend. UWA defeated Montevallo 3-1 this past Saturday in a non-conference match.

Senior outside hitter Taylor Donato leads the team and is third in the GSC in kills averaging 4.02 per set. Donato has tallied 177 kills on the season to lead all Tigers. Freshman setter Grace Harris leads the team in assists with 405 and senior libero Rebecca Johnson leads the team in digs with 188.

This will be the fourth meeting between UWA and AUM with the Tigers leading the series 3-0.

About the Choctaws
Mississippi College is currently 3-8 on the season with a 1-1 mark in away matches. The Choctaws have lost four in a row with three of those matches going to five sets. They will open GSC play on Tuesday against UWA and will travel to West Florida on Friday before taking on the Warhawks on Saturday.

Two players have reached 100 or more kills this season with sophomore outside hitter Jamie Boros leading the way with 152 kills. Fellow outside hitter Kendall Platt has notched 107 kills this year for the Choctaws.

Senior libero Julia Martin leads the team in digs with 232 while freshman middle blocker Kate Bass leads the team in blocks with 38.0.

Lexie Laurendine and Ingrid Savola have split time at setter this season, with Laurendine tallying 236 assists and Savola tallying 167.

This will be the fourth meeting between the two programs with MC holding a 2-1 series lead. AUM won the last meeting between the two, earning a 3-0 victory last season on the campus of the Choctaws.
