Carrolton, Ga. – The Auburn University at Montgomery women's soccer team played their first official Gulf South Conference game on the road against West Georgia on Friday night, suffering a 5-1 setback.

- Janasia Smith netted an assist on the game's first score and was able to net the second goal of the game for the Wolves via a penalty kick goal.
- Fletcher and Kistler combined to stop three shots for the Warhawks.

Milian Mollison netted her first career goal for AUM in the 57' minute to run the game to 2-1 at the time.
How it Happened
- The Warhawks dominated possession in the first five minutes of the contest, netting two scoring chances that could have put them ahead in the game early, but they were unable to break through.
- West Georgia took advantage of a tie game in the 5' minute when Smith found teammate Sadie Prince inside the penalty area who then slotted the ball past Fletcher to score the game's first goal.
- Six minutes later Smith was able to draw a penalty inside the box which earned her team a penalty kick. Smith stepped up from the spot and put the ball to the right of the net, with the Warhawk keeper leaning left.
- The Wolves would continue their dominant play for the remainder of the half but were unable to capitalize on a variety of scoring chances.
- To begin the second half, the Warhawks were forced to defend a multitude of corner kicks before going on to the attack themselves in the 57' minute when a mad scramble to find the ball in the West Georgia box was put home by Mollison.
- AUM was smelling blood after the goal by Mollison as the team was hunting for the game-tying goal. Multiple attacks from the Warhawks were all met by the hands of the West Georgia keeper.
- The Wolves would be able to break through the Warhawk defense once again in the 70' minute when Cassidi Thomas slotted a ball past Kistler and into the back of the net to run the game to 3-1
- West Georgia would end any doubt about the game in the 76' minute when Karley Baker beat Kistler up and to the right to extend the Wolves' lead to a game-high three.
- The Wolves would find a way to add another goal in the dying moments of the game when Ryleyn Wells took the ball and dribbled through the Warhawk defense to score West Georgia's fifth goal of the contest.

- The Wolves registered eight shots on goal while the Warhawks were able to net four scoring chances.
- West Georgia was able to record seven corner kicks, while AUM was held to just one.

- AUM will continue their four-game road trip with a matchup with the Valdosta State Blazers on Sunday afternoon at the VSU Soccer Complex. The game is scheduled to begin at noon.
