Valdosta, Ga. – On a day where the wind was howling throughout, the Auburn University at Montgomery women's soccer team fell to Gulf South Conference opponent Valdosta State in a 6-0 road loss on Sunday.
Game Notes
- This was the first time AUM has been shutout this season and the first since October 27, 2018, against Christian Brothers.
- Blazer forward Riley Tennant netted two goals and an assist in the contest for Valdosta State.

How it Happened
- In the opening moments of the game, Valdosta State took advantage of some miscommunication from the Warhawk back line but barely missed an opening goal when a shot by a Blazer forward trickled off the far post.
- AUM would march down the field in the 14' minute of the game when
Allison Singleterry found the ball at her feet and attempted a shot from inside the box. The chance was met by the legs of the Valdosta State defender, and the ball was cleared away.
- The Blazers would open the scoring in the 17' minute of play when Lewis took a shot from the right side of the box and beat Kistler to the far side to give Valdosta State a 1-0 lead.
- The Orange & Black would march down the field immediately following the goal, leading to a chance by
Milian Mollison but her shot was blocked and was pushed upfield to Amber Saunders who slotted the ball past Kistler for the team's second goal of the game.
- Valdosta State would come out with a flurry of scoring chances and were able to capitalize in the 46' minute when Tennant headed home a pass from Lewis to put the Blazers up by three.
- A fourth goal was in the cards for Valdosta State when Lewis took a shot right in front of Kistler who stopped the initial attempt, but the rebound was put into the back of the net by Lewis on her second attempt.
- The Blazers would add on to their four-goal lead in the 75' minute when Lewis completed her hat trick by bending a ball from the right side of the box past the outstretched Kistler and into the left side of the net.
- Tennant would find her second goal of the game and the team's sixth score against the Warhawks in the 78' minute when she found herself alone in front of Kistler and slotted the ball past the AUM keeper.

- AUM will continue their Gulf South Conference road trip and will face Spring Hill College on October 4 in Mobile. The match with the badgers will be the Warhawks' third straight road game, and will begin at 1 p.m.
