About the Warhawks
The Warhawks will look to avenge a November 23 home loss to the Lady Flames in their first game of the season, while looking to sweep the season series against the Shorter Hawks after taking them down at home on January 12.
Victoria Morales continued her stellar season against the Lady Choctaws last week, netting a team-high 11 points while grabbing seven rebounds. The senior continues to pace the team in scoring and rebounding, totaling 12.9 points per game while coming down with 8.6 rebounds per contest.
AUM is still one of the best defensive teams in the Gulf South Conference. A top-5 defensive team in the league, the Warhawks are limiting opposing teams to 62.6 points per game. Lee leads the league in defense, allowing a league-low 54.6 points, while Shorter is giving up a league-high 86.4.
Jordan Brewster continues to cement herself as one of the best 3-point shooters in the country. Her 75 3-pointers this season leads the GSC in that category, while her .361 3-point percentage ranks second in the league.
About the Lady Hawks
Shorter, with one win this season, sits in last place in the Gulf South Conference with one win in 15 tries. The Lady Hawks' lone win this season came against West Florida.
The first meeting of the year saw the Warhawks narrowly escaping with an 83-76 victory at the AUM Gymnasium. Shorter's Jasmine Gaines led the way in scoring for the Lady Hawks, registering 26 points.
About the Lady Flames
Lee has continued their extreme success from last season with a 22-1 start to the 2019-20 season. Lee sits No.4 in the latest national polls while also holding the first spot in the South Regional rankings.
The Lady Flames only loss this season came on December 17 on the road against Valdosta State. Lee was able to defeat the Orange & Black earlier this season at the AUM Gymnasium, taking down the Warhawks 71-52.
