HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Orange & Black came out firing on all cylinders to keep their postseason hopes alive in the Gulf South Conference. Led by Morales, the Warhawks jumped out to a quick 11-0 lead over the Lady Bucs. Christian Brothers' first points of the game were scored at the 4:52 mark of the first, a layup in the paint to get rid of the AUM shutout. A 3-pointer from Brewster and an Aaliyah Milord layup helped secure a 16-7 lead after one period of action.
- Brewster was up to her old tricks to start the second quarter, draining a 3-pointer to push the AUM lead to 12. CBU's first two points were allowed via free throws but the Warhawks kept knocking down shots and took a 28-9 lead into the first media timeout. After the stoppage in play, Christian Brothers took the next nine points to cut the Warhawks lead to 30-21. AUM would hang on to end the first half, leading the Lady Bucs 32-23 at halftime.
- CBU would do their best to hang around in the second half, but ultimately the Orange & Black kept them at a comfortable distance. To begin the third quarter, Morales and Makaylla Bullard propelled the Warhawks to a 39-25 lead. Three scores from Jemaiya Lee helped the Orange & Black push their lead to 17 after the media timeout. Five-straight points from Christian Brother were matched by two 3-pointers from AUM, resulting in a 53-36 lead for the Warhawks heading into the fourth.
- A back-and-forth fourth quarter awaited the two basketball programs, with plenty of scoring to open the final frame of action. The Lady Bucs were able to close the gap to as little as 19 with a pair of free throws midway through the fourth quarter, but the Warhawk offense kept pace with Christian Brothers to take the game 82-65.
