AUM continued their hot start to the game with a 7-0 run to extend their lead to 10-4 over the Wolves in the first. A single free throw ended the run briefly for the Orange & Black. A few minutes later Brewster knocked down her third 3-pointer of the game to register 200 career triples, becoming the fifth player in program history to accomplish this feat. Her efforts sparked an 8-3 run to end the first and a 21-10 lead heading into the second.
- The two teams traded baskets to start the second quarter, resulting in a 10-point lead for the Warhawks. A 3-point play by West Georgia cut into the AUM lead to 25-20 with under six minutes to play. Both teams struggled to score baskets on the other side of the media timeout, resulting in a seven-point lead for the Warhawks in the middle stages of the second quarter. Four straight point from West Georgia cut the lead to three, but Brewster was able to knock down another triple to answer the score. A 7-0 run over 50 seconds gave West Georgia their first lead since early in the first quarter with two minutes remaining in the first half. AUM cut into the Wolves lead to end the first half and a Brewster 3-pointer gave AUM a one-point lead going into the break.
- Morales nailed the first points of the second half with a turnaround jumper but West Georgia responded with a three point play a few possessions later to take a two-point lead. With just over five minutes to play in the third, Carter knocked down two free throws to regain the AUM lead at 44-43. A 6-0 run by the Warhawks was answered by West Georgia scoring three layups in 15 seconds off inbounding turnovers, giving UWG a 49-48 lead. With a back-and-forth battle to close out the third quarter, Roni Richardson hit her first 3-pointer of the night to get the Orange & Black to within one to close out the third quarter.
- Milord converted on the fourth quarter's first score, giving the Warhawks a brief lead before West Georgia went up by five points to start the final frame.
