MONTGOMERY, Ala. – In the final game of the regular season, the Auburn University at Montgomery women's basketball team fell to Gulf South Conference foe Valdosta State on Saturday afternoon 68-53.
NOTES
- AUM finished the 2019-20 campaign with a 12-16 record.
- The Warhawks finished with seven more wins than all of last year.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Senior
Aaliyah Milord scored the game's first two points 30 seconds into the game to put the Warhawks up early in the first. After two free throws from
Jemaiya Lee, the Orange & Black found themselves up by four. Valdosta State grabbed six-straight points to take their own four-point lead, but two foul shots from Carter would bring the Warhawks to within one late in the period. The Lady Blazers nailed a 3-pointer with 15 seconds remaining in the first to take a four-point lead going into the second quarter.
- In a slow second quarter, the Lady Blazers were able to gain a six-point advantage over AUM in the early going. Carter brought the score to 23-19 with eight minutes left in the second, but four unanswered points from VSU brought the Lady Blazers lead to 27-19. The Warhawks were up to the task with a 7-0 run highlighted by five points from Carter and a layup from Lee. The run from AUM marked the final time either side scored in the first half.
- Early in the third quarter, Valdosta State went up by 10 with a fast-break layup to run the score to 38-28. A
Jordan Brewster 3-pointer brought the Warhawks to within seven, but a pair of scores in the middle stages of the quarter extended the Lady Blazers' lead to 12. Two free throws from Carter and a jumper from Brewster knocked down the VSU lead to seven at the end of the third quarter.
- The two teams traded baskets to begin the fourth quarter, resulting in a six-point lead for Valdosta State after a layup from Carter. The back-and-forth affair ended with a 9-0 run from Valdosta State, resulting in a 61-46 lead and a 15-point lead with five minutes remaining in the game. The Lady Blazers kept their foot on the gas to end the game and defeated the Warhawks 68-53.
