MONTGOMERY, Ala. --- The Auburn Montgomery men's basketball team closed out their 2019-20 regular-season slate with a 98-86 loss to the number-nine ranked Blazers of Valdosta State University on Saturday, Feb. 29 from the AUM Gymnasium.
NOTEWORTHY
- The loss brings AUM's record to 15-13 overall, and 10-10 in GSC action.

Joshua Moore were reconized as a part of "Senior Day."
- Six different Warhawks scored in double figures in the setback.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- D. Taylor led AUM with 15 points scored and seven assists distributed.

Maharrith Jackson logged 12 points and five rebounds, while Bell accounted for 11 points and four rebounds.
- Moore, Bryant and
Jeremiah Bozeman all scored 10 points each, with Moore pulling down seven rebounds.
- Reddick finished with eight points, nine rebounds and three blocks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- AUM jumped out to a 10-4 lead through the first five minutes and would go on to take a 20-11 lead at the 13:03 mark after a successful jumper by Moore.
- A quick 10-5 run over the next three minutes saw Valdosta State trim AUM's lead to just 25-21 at the 10:32 mark.
- The Warhawks would go on to lead by as many as nine twice over the next eight minutes, with their latest coming with 2:46 left in the half and leading by a score of 44-35.
- The Blazers outscored AUM 10-2 over the final two minutes and change, as AUM would take a 46-45 lead into halftime.
- VSU opened up half number two by outscoring AUM 12-3 to lead 57-49 with 17:22 to go.
- The Blazers took their first double-digit lead at the 16:11 mark, and went up by a game-high 21 points two different times, with the latest occurrence coming at the 8:33 mark.
- With the Blazers on top 90-71 with 7:07 to go, AUM outscored them 15-8 to give way to the game's final tally.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- AUM shot 47 percent (16-34) in the first half and 39 percent (11-29) in the second half to finish at 43.5 percent (27-62) for the game.
- Valdosta State shot just under 60 percent (22-37) in half number two to help them finish at 51 percent (39-76) for the day.
- Of the Blazer's 98 points scored, 60 were tallied in the paint.
- VSU won the rebounding battle, 41-34.
- The Warhawks missed just three free throws, finishing 88.5 percent (23-26) from the charity stripe on the night.
- AUM accounted for 32 points in the paint, 32 bench points and 11 points off of VSU turnovers.
UP NEXT
- The Warhawks will take on Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn. on Tuesday, March 3 in the quarterfinal round of the GSC Postseason Tournament, with a tip-off time to be announced.
