LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery women's soccer team dropped a 4-1 Gulf South Conference decision to University of West Alabama on Friday, Oct. 15.
With the loss, AUM's record falls to 4-6 overall and 2-5 in GSC play.
West Alabama punched in their first two goals in minutes 20 and 24 before conceding AUM's lone strike in minute number 24 by
Anila Mantello. The goal marked for the Rueglio, Italy native's second of the season.
The Tigers put the game out of reach with a pair of second-half goals just two minutes apart from each other, with the first coming in minute number 57 and the second in minute number 59 to give way to the 4-1 score.
AUM was outshot by West Alabama 12-6 in the contest. The Warhawks put three shots in goal, compared to nine from UWA.
In goal,
Karla Gaytan notched five saves. The junior keeper's record now sits at 4-6 on the year.
The women's soccer team will return to the pitch on Sunday, Oct. 17 when they take on Alabama Huntsville. Kickoff from Huntsville, Ala. is set for 1:00 p.m.
