CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Auburn Montgomery women's soccer team fell 4-1 to the number-two ranked Lady Flames of Lee University on Sunday, Oct. 24 in Gulf South Conference action.
With the loss, AUM's record falls to 6-7 overall and 4-6 in GSC play.
Sydney Garth punched in AUM's lone goal in minute number 41, with help from
Brianna Yurkovich. The score marked for Garth's fifth of the season, good enough for second on the team.
The Lady Flames scored three goals in half number one, all coming within a five-minute span. Lee logged goal number one in minute 12, the second in minute 13, and the third in minute 17.
The 3-1 score held all the way until midway through the second period, when the Lady Flames would tally their four and final goal to give way to the 4-1 final score.
AUM was outshot by Lee on the day 25-5. Of the Warhawks' five goals, three came on frame.
In goal,
Karla Gaytan recorded six saves on the day. The junior keeper's record now sits at 6-7 on the season.
The women's soccer team will return home for a pair of upcoming GSC weekend contests, beginning with a Friday, Oct. 29 match against West Georgia at 5:00 p.m.
