MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery men's soccer team erased a two-goal deficit in half number two to earn a 3-3 draw at Christian Brothers University on Friday, Oct. 29.
With the draw, AUM's record comes to 9-3-2 overall and 7-1-2 in GSC action. The draw also officially clinches a home match for the Warhawks in the GSC quarterfinals on Sunday, Nov. 7.
Christian Brothers struck twice in a 10-minute span in half number one, with goals in the 13th and 20th minutes to take a 2-0 lead.
AUM was able to salvage the half and gain momentum heading into the break after a
Jabari Broussard goal made the score 2-1.
Glenn Waters helped set up the score via corner kick.
Christian Brothers took the momentum right back in the early seconds of the second half, however, by knocking in a goal in the 46th minute and once again doubling their lead to 3-1.
The Warhawks would continue to fight though, getting a 59th-minute goal from
Franck Kouentchi to make the score just 3-2 and an equalizer from
Jamos Hauk with less than 10 seconds left in regulation.
AUM was outshot in the contest by CBU, 20-16. The Warhawks were also edged in shots on goal, 10-7. The Warhawks took six corner kicks, compared to five from CBU.
In goal,
