MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Behind strong singles and doubles play, the Auburn University at Montgomery women's tennis team defeated Gulf South Conference foe Valdosta State 5-2 at the AUM Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon.
The Warhawks even their 2021 record at 2-2 and improve to 2-1 in conference play. Valdosta State, meanwhile, falls to 0-3 on the year.
The Warhawks earned four of their five points in singles action and they got the majority of the wins done at the bottom of the roster. AUM was able to win the four, five and six slots on their way to taking the singles point
In doubles, the Warhawks continued their strong play, taking two of the three doubles games to score the lone doubles point of the afternoon.

The Warhawks will hit the road for the second time this season on Sunday, February 28 when they travel to Milledgeville, Ga., to take on Georgia College at 1 p.m.
