Singles Play Aids Warhawks to 5-2 Win Over Knights

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – After claiming the doubles point, the Auburn University at Montgomery men's tennis team used clutch singles victories to claim a 5-2 win over NAIA foe Middle Georgia State on Sunday afternoon.

The pairing of Nino Portugal and Giovanni Bellio were able to set the tone in doubles action for the Warhawks as they were able to come away with a comfortable 6-1 win. AUM was able to secure the doubles point after a 6-3 win from David Mulas and Jonathan Judy-Hansen.

Things would get dicey for the Orange & Black to begin singles play, however, as the Warhawks would drop the first two decisions. Judy-Hansen was able to get the Warhawks back in the match with a 6-4, 6-3 victory, while newcomer David Rieme was
able to secure the victory for AUM with an intense 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 win in the second slot.
