HIGHLIGHTS

  • Lee was shown a red card in the game's 15th minute, leaving the Warhawks up a player for the rest of the match.
  • AUM out-shot Lee 7-4 in the first 45 minutes as the first half came to a close.
  • A trio of Lee shots got the second half started, but it was AUM that struck first.
  • Lauren Akemon found the game's first goal as she collected a misplay from the Lee goalkeeper and finessed a chip shot into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead in the 68th minute.
  • The Lady Flames had a quick answer, however, as Avery Sides played a long pass into the box to Grace Berry, who poked in a tying goal in the 71st minute.
  • A late set piece by Lee was defended by the Warhawks to preserve the 1-1 draw.
  • AUM had 11 shots to Lee's nine in the match.

WORDS FROM THE WARHAWKS

"
I am really proud of the girls," said Julianne Herrity. "We had a game plan and they stuck to it. We were disappointed to not get a second goal, especially after hitting the crossbar and both posts. But we're happy to get a point today against a very tough opponent."
