Nova Southeastern Takes Down AUM in Women's Basketball

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery women's basketball team took a 91-78 loss on Saturday afternoon inside Trustmark Arena in a nonconference matchup against Nova Southeastern University in the final game of the GSC/SSC Crossover Classic. 

Allasha Dudley lead the way for the Warhawks with 24 total points and grabbed three boards. Jamya Tyus tallied 18 points and eight rebounds.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • AUM went up 6-4 against after Jamya Tyus got a steal and Jordyn Maddix converted a layup. 
  • Nova took the lead and Allasha Dudley buried a three-pointer with 42 seconds left in the first quarter. 
  • Dudley converted a layup at the 7:33 mark in the second quarter to retake the lead for AUM at 21-19. Shortly after, the Sharks retook the lead
  • After a couple of free throws, the Warhawks had it even at 29-29 and the Sharks ended the first half on a 10-2 run and held a 39-31 lead at the break. 
  • Nova opened the second half on a 11-1 run and opened the game up with a 50-31 lead. 
  • In the fourth quarter Jyordanna Davey made two free-throws to cut bring the Warhawks within eight points. 
  • AUM could not cut the lead anymore and the Sharks won 91-78. 
NOTABLES
  • Dudley was 3-of-5 from beyond the arc and 7-of-9 from the charity stripe. She led the team with three assists. 
  • Jamya Tyus was 7-of-8 from the floor and tallied 18 points with eight boards. 
  • Jemeriah Moore was the third AUM player to break into double digits with 10 points.
  • The Warhawks outrebounded the Sharks 36-29 and had 20 second chance points. AUM scored 40 points in the paint.
  • The Sharks scored 37 points off the 23 AUM turnovers. 
  • Nova's Maddie Frederick led all scorers with 30 points and eight rebounds.
