MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The 20^th ranked Auburn University at Montgomery women's tennis team used a pair of 7-0 shutouts over Spring Hill College and Tuskegee University to open the 2022 regular season and the home portion of the schedule.

The Warhawks start the season 2-0 and swept both schools 7-0. Every player on the active roster netted a win in either singles or double action.

AUM breezed through doubles play against Spring Hill in the regular-season opener. Only the pairing of Alba De La Torre and Nahia Izco dropped a game to the Badgers, with the remaining doubles pairs winning 6-0. Estefania Garcia, Ana Villalvazo, and Ane Ibarra earned their first career singles victories.

The Warhawks continued their momentum after the first match into the second against regional rival Tuskegee. The Golden Tigers were playing with just five players, leaving forfeits in the second doubles slot and the sixth singles slot.

The Warhawks will play their third match in two days tomorrow when they travel to Columbus, Ga., to take on their first nationally-ranked foe in #7 Columbus State. The action from the home of the Cougars is set to begin at 11 a.m.
