Brewster Makes History As The 17th Member Of The 1,000 Point Club In Loss To UAH

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Auburn University at Montgomery women's basketball senior guard Jordan Brewster joined elite company on Monday night, becoming the 17th AUM women's basketball player to score at least 1,000 career points in AUM's 73-62 to Alabama Huntsville.

The Warhawks fall to 6-15 on the season with a 1-14 mark in conference play. Alabama Huntsville improves to 5-15 on the season with a 4-11 record in Gulf South play.


Brewster eclipsed 1,000 career points with her third 3-pointer of the game in the first quarter, becoming the 17th player in program history to accomplish this feat. The senior Tennessee native finished the game against UAH with


The start to the first quarter saw an offensive stalemate as both teams struggled to put the ball in the basket. Brewster officially made history with her third 3-pointer of the quarter to become the 17th member of the 1,000-point club. Her nine points in the first gave AUM a three-point lead after 10 minutes of action.


UAH started strong to start the second quarter as they continued a 9-0 run into the beginning of the second frame to take the lead over AUM 22-19. The Chargers' run grew to as long as 12-2, growing the UAH lead to 27-21 in the middle stages of the second quarter. Brewster continued her hot shooting day late in the third quarter with her 17th point of the game to cut the UAH lead to 36-30, but AUM trailed 43-32 at halftime.


AUM came out hot in the third quarter, taking the first six points of the third period to cut the UAH lead down to 43-38 and forced an early timeout. Alabama Huntsville controlled the pace of play after the quick run from AUM, stretching their lead to 52-39 with 3:35 remaining and would lead 55-41 heading into the fourth quarter.


Similarly to the third quarter, the Warhawks were able to take the first six points of the fourth to cut the Charger lead down to eight early in the fourth. After being held scoreless for the first four minutes of the quarter, UAH jumped on the board to push their lead back to double-digits. Despite two 3-pointers from Tamia Willingham-King, the Warhawks would not be able to contain the Chargers, falling 73-62.


AUM will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Mississippi to take on Gulf South Conference foe Delta State. The action from Cleveland, Miss., is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
