MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The 14th-ranked Auburn University at Montgomery women's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 sweep over Gulf South Conference foe Shorter University at the AUM Tennis Complex on Friday night to open GSC play.

The Warhawks race to a 5-1 record on the year, seeing their best start to a season since 2017. Shorter falls to 1-4 on the year with an 0-4 mark in GSC action.

AUM dominated every area of play against the Hawks to open conference action. The Warhawks gained wins in the first and third doubles pairings to clinch the doubles point, then saw successes in the second, first, and fourth flights to clinch the victory.

The Warhawks match against Georgia College on Sunday has been postponed, so AUM will now look forward to their March 4 contest against No. 8 Saint Leo. The top-15 showdown is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
