Hart’s 40-Point Performance Highlights Men's Hoop's Senior Day Win Over Montevallo

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Led by a forty-point performance from senior guard Isaiah Hart, the Auburn Montgomery Men's Basketball Team knocked off in-state rival Montevallo 85-72 to close out the 2021-22 season on "Senior Day."

Hart's 40 points came on a 14-23 shooting night in which he also knocked down four of nine threes and eight of 10 free throws. His total marks for the most points scored in a game since the 2019-20 season.

Jeremiah Bozeman finished second on the night with 15 points in his AUM finale. The senior guard also hauled in eight rebounds.

Roderick Smith logged his second double-double of the season with a 13-point 12-rebound performance. James Graham added six points, nine rebounds, and a game-high four blocks.

Both teams scored 10 points over the first six minutes of the contest, but The Warhawks would up the intensity over the next six minutes with a 21-4 run to go up 31-14 at the 7:53 mark. AUM shot 9-13 during that stretch, with Hart scoring 15 of AUM's 21.

Montevallo fought back with a 10-2 run over the next four minutes and edged AUM in scoring 12-11 over the final four minutes to trim AUM's lead to 44-36 at halftime.

The Falcons outscored AUM 13-5 to open up the second and tie the game at 49-all. Both teams battled back and fourth over the next several minutes until an 18-2 run from the Warhawks put them in the drivers seat and gave them a 76-58 lead with 5:55 to play.

AUM shot 7-12 over the aforementioned scoring run while holding Montevallo to just a pair of free throws. Smith led the way with eight points over that span for the Orange and Black.

From there, AUM was able to cruise its way to the victory, outscoring Montevallo 14-9. Hart was able to eclipse the 40-point mark with a free throw at the 3:04 mark.

AUM finished out the day shooting 50 percent (32-64) from the floor while holding the Falcons to 40 percent (26-65). The Warhawks out-rebounded Montevallo 40-35 and accounted for 36 points in the paint.

Saturday's contest featured a pair of lead changes and four tied scores.
