#14 Men’s Tennis Breezes By Middle Georgia For Season-Opening Win

COCHRAN, Ga. – The 14th ranked Auburn University at Montgomery men's tennis team earned a commanding 7-0 victory over NAIA foe Middle Georgia State on Saturday afternoon to kick off the 2022 regular season.

AUM opens the season with a win for the sixth straight season and moves to 1-0 to start the new campaign. The Warhawks had previously played exhibition matches against NCAA DI foes Troy and Alabama State.

The Warhawks dropped the doubles point after falling in courts two and three. The seventh-ranked pairing of Muhamad Bedwan and David Rieme defeated the top flight of the Knights 6-2. AUM responded well, sweeping all six singles courts to secure the win.

The Warhawks will turn their attention to the home opener on Thursday, February 10, when they host two SIAC schools in a home doubleheader. AUM will play Spring Hill at 11 a.m. before playing Tuskegee at 3 p.m.
