#30 Warhawks Win Third Straight Match After Besting Montevallo 5-2

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The 30th-ranked Auburn University at Montgomery women's tennis team won their third straight match after taking down Gulf South Conference foe Montevallo 5-2 at the AUM Tennis Complex on Tuesday.

The Warhawks honored Sofia Mustre, Sofia Navarro, and Alba De La Torre before the match as part of the senior day ceremonies. AUM moves to 14-5 on the year after the win and 8-0 in GSC action. Montevallo falls to 9-7 in 2022.

AUM got off on the right foot against the Falcons as they were able to take all three doubles courts. Two early wins from Navarro and Estefania Garcia gave AUM a 3-0 lead, and Ane Ibarra was able to clinch the match with a win in the fifth flight.

The Warhawks will return to the AUM Tennis Complex on Saturday to face off against West Alabama in a match that could decide the regular-season championship and the first seed in the GSC playoffs. The action from Montgomery is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
