MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The 19^th-ranked Auburn University at Montgomery women's tennis team dropped a deciding 6-1 contest to 14^th-ranked and Gulf South Conference foe West Alabama at the AUM Tennis Complex on Friday.

The Warhawks fall to 14-5 overall and suffer their first GSC loss of the season and stand at 8-1. West Alabama moves to 15-4 in 2022 with an undefeated 9-0 record in conference play. The Tigers will now be the first seed in the upcoming GSC tournament, while AUM is now locked into the second seed.

AUM struggled early in doubles play, as the Warhawks were not able to record a victory on any of the three courts. West Alabama took their early 1-0 lead into singles play and was able to dominate, coming away with the 6-1 win.

The Warhawks will play their final road match of 2022 in their next match as they head out to Valdosta, Georgia to take on the 56^th-ranked Blazers. The action is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20.
