PENSACOLA, Fla. – The 30^th-ranked Auburn University at Montgomery women's tennis team used a vital doubles point to take a dramatic 4-3 victory over 25^th-ranked Gulf South Conference foe West Florida on Friday afternoon.

AUM's win over the Argos is the first in program history. The Warhawks improve to 12-5 overall with a 6-0 record in GSC action. West Florida, meanwhile, drops to 11-8 in 2022.

After falling in the third doubles court to start the match, the Warhawks were able to rebound with convincing victories in the first and second flights to secure the early 1-0 lead.

The Warhawks would take a 3-1 lead over West Florida after a win in the fifth singles flight from Ane Ibarra. West Florida was able to bring the overall match to a 3-3 tie before the deciding point was won by Alba De La Torre.

AUM will look to keep the good times rolling into their next match against GSC opponent Mississippi College in their next match. AUM will be home on Sunday to take on the Choctaws at 1 p.m.
