MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The fifth-ranked Auburn University at Montgomery softball team will open the Gulf South Conference postseason tournament as the top seed after claiming their second-consecutive Gulf South Conference regular-season title.
The Warhawks will open tournament play on Wednesday against the eighth-seeded Union at 6 p.m. at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala. AUM will also enter the tournament as the defending champions after going 4-0 in last year's tournament.
The 2022 Gulf South Conference Softball Championship will return to Choccolocco Park and will be co-hosted by the City of Oxford, Ala. It is the third time the championship will be played at Choccolocco Park. The tournament will be held May 4-7, 2022. The top eight teams in the GSC softball standings qualify for the tournament, which is a modified double-elimination format. The tournament winner will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Softball Championship.
PARKING/TICKETS: Tickets for the GSC Softball Championship will be $10/day are available online and at the Choccolocco Park box office. Parking for the event will be $5/day.
