#4 Softball Enters NCAA Tournament As Top Seed In South, Host Of South Regional

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – A day after winning their second-consecutive Gulf South Conference championship, the fourth-ranked Auburn University at Montgomery softball team earned the top seed in the south region in the NCAA tournament and will host four teams in a south region pod to open the national tournament. This is the first time AUM softball has hosted a regional in the NCAA tournament.

The Warhawks will open their season against eighth-ranked Tuskegee on Thursday, May 12 at 3:30 p.m. AUM and Tuskegee will join fourth-ranked Nova Southeastern and fifth-ranked Alabama Huntsville. The Warhawks went 1-0 against Nova Southeastern this season and 3-2 against Alabama Huntsville.


AUM enters the national tournament for the second time in program history. The Warhawks earned the top seed in last season's NCAA south regional and went 1-2 in Valdosta, Georgia. The Warhawks enter the postseason with a 43-9 record, including an 18-1 record at the AUM Softball Complex.
