CLEVELAND, Miss. -- Mayson Jaindl scored her 23rd career goal, but it was not enough for the Auburn University at Montgomery women's soccer team as they fell for the first time in Gulf South Conference play 2-1 to Delta State.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Delta State controlled the game early and found the game's first goal in the 29th minute.
- Rainey Niles drilled a long shot from outside the box off a pass from Rylee McGee.
- The Warhawks were able to battle and keep it a one-goal game at the halftime intermission.
- It was AUM that found the game-tying goal in the 56th minute thanks to the right foot of Mayson Jaindl.
- Maggie Flanagan pummeled a free kick deep into the box that bounced off the post, and Jaindl cleaned things up to register her third goal of the season.
- The assist marked the third assist of Flanagan's AUM career.
- The Lady Statesmen were up to the challenge, however, as Jae'lasha Julien pegged home the game-winning header in the 58th minute to dispatch the Warhawks.
STATS OF THE GAME
- Jaindl scored the 23rd goal of her AUM career, moving her into a tie with Kristen Mitchel (2008-2011) for seventh place all-time in the Warhawk record book.
UP NEXT
After a four-game road trip to start the season, the Warhawks make their debut at home on Friday, Sept. 16 at 5 p.m. as they play host to Union (Tenn.) University at the AUM Soccer Complex.
