Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- A pair of goals inside the final four minutes of regulation lifted the Auburn University at Montgomery women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Gulf South Conference foe Union University in the team's home opener.
Sydney Garth slotted home a missed penalty kick to tie the game at 1-1 in the 87th minute, and Mayson Jaindl's sliding effort caromed off the post and into the back of the net to seal the conference win for the Warhawks.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Lilly Ludwig put the visitors on the board first, in the 18th minute, as she received a pass from Shaylynn Bentley to score her first goal of the season.
- AUM had a bevy of first-half chances with 11 shots in the game's opening 45 minutes but was unable to find the tying goal before the break.
- Union took a 1-0 lead into the half in a back-and-forth contest.
- With time winding down and less than five minutes to play in the game, the Warhawks were finally able to capitalize on a pair of chances.
- In the 87th minute, Lauren Akemon dribbled into the box and was fouled to earn a penalty kick.
- Anila Mantello took the penalty kick for the Warhawks and drove a ball to the left of the goal that drilled the post.
- The ball bounced back into play just outside the six-yard box and found the foot of Garth, who sent the ball into the back of the net to tie the game.
- Then, in the 88th minute, the Warhawks found what proved to be the game-winning goal.
- Avery Moody carried the ball up the right side and played a cross into Mantello. Mantello flicked a ball in front of the net to Jaindl, whose sliding kick glanced off the right post and past the Union goalkeeper.
STATS OF THE GAME
- The Warhawks scored two goals in the game's final 3:58 to grab the squad's first win of the year and first in GSC play.
- Jaindl scored the 24th goal of her AUM career, moving her past Kristen Mitchel (2008-2011) for solo seventh place all-time in the record book.
