Dudley's 39 Points Leads Women's Basketball Past Nova Southeastern

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Auburn University at Montgomery women's basketball team defeated Nova Southeastern University 69-62 on Friday afternoon inside the Rick Case Arena in a nonconference matchup.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Allasha Dudley scored the first points of the season on a free-throw to give the Warhawks their first points of the game. 
  • Nova Southeastern owned a 11-9 lead late in the first quarter, and it was followed by a layup from Tian Addison. The two teams closed the first quarter squared away at 11. 
  • The Sharks gained a four point lead, but the Warhawks went on a run and retook the lead after Dudley made a layup at the 5:17 mark in the second quarter. 
  • Dudley scored her 21st point of the game with 47 seconds left and AUM went into the halftime break owning a 33-24 lead. 
  • NSU went on a 9-0 run in the third frame to bring the score to 42-36.
  • In the fourth quarter, the Sharks took a 47-46 lead and Dudley made a layup. It was followed by Addison connecting on a jumper to give AUM a 52-49 lead. 
  • The Warhawks went 8-10 from the foul line in the final two minutes of the game to escape a comeback from the Sharks as they earned the 69-62 victory. 

NOTABLES

  • Dudley's 39 points is the most since Tori Carter scored 38 against Shawnee State on December 22, 2015. 
  • AUM outrebounded the Sharks 39-24. 
  • Addison finished with 18 points going 6-for-12 from the field. 
  • Brianna Sanchez brought down 13 rebounds. 
  • Grace O'Gara chipped in with six points.
  • The win is head coach Jon Plefka's first at AUM.
