Christian Brothers Takes Down Women's Basketball

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The Auburn University at Montgomery women's basketball team dropped a Gulf South Conference game against Christian Brothers University on Saturday at the AUM Athletics Complex by a final score of 78-58.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • CBU's Emily Jones made two three-pointers in the first two minutes of the game to help CBU go up 6-2. 
  • Jamya Tyus made a jumper at the 1:28 mark in the first quarter to bring them within seven points. CBU led at the end of the first 22-13. 
  • Derienne Black added a steal and a fast break layup at the 7:00-minute mark of the second quarter to bring AUM within eight points. 
  • The Lady Bucs responded with an 11-3 run to end the first half leading 38-22. 
  • AUM fought hard to get back in the game in the third quarter and made it 50-44 after Jyordanna Davey made a layup at the 2:06 mark. 
  • CBU outscored the Warhawks 24-14 in the fourth quarter and won the game 78-58. 
NOTABLES
  • The Warhawks were out-rebounded 54-34 in the game. CBU had 16 second-chance points. 
  • Derienne Black scored a season-high of 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field. 
  • Jamya Tyus scored double figures in back-to-back games for the first time since November 19. 
  • CBU had four players score in double-digits with Kallie Searcy scoring a team-high of 19 points and 10 rebounds. Darcy Doran tallied 11 rebounds.
