Box Score 2 AMERICUS, Ga. – The Auburn University at Montgomery softball team split a doubleheader against Georgia Southwestern on Tuesday afternoon by final scores of 5-2 and 9-11 in nonconference action.

HIGHLIGHTS (GM 1)
- AUM struck first with a three-run first inning. Chloe Baynes scored a run off Kat Fallen getting hit by a pitch with bases loaded. Lexie Bullock drove in a run off a fielder's choice that scored Allie Miller. Gia Martin tallied a double down the right field line that scored Molly Cobb.
- Cobb Hit a solo homer in the top of the third to extend the lead to 4-0. The home run is her second of the season.
- The Lady Canes found a run in the bottom of the fourth off a RBI single to right center field to make it 4-1.
- AUM found a insurance run in the top of the sixth frame with Olivia Aycock registered a infield single and scored Gia Martin to push the lead to 5-1.
- GSW got another run back in the bottom of the sixth off a sacrifice fly but, was unable to complete the comeback and the Warhawks earned the 5-2 victory.
ON THE MOUND (GM 1)
- Avery Dickerson worked seven complete innings capturing the win and moving to 4-2 on the season. She allowed two runs on seven hits and picked up four strikeouts.
HIGHLIGHTS (GM 2)
- Georgia Southwestern struck first in the second game with an unearned run and a two-run homer to left field to go up 3-0.
- Faith Wheat singled to left field in second inning and scored Gia Martin to cut the lead to 3-1.
- GSW's Rutledge hit a two RBI triple to extend the lead to 5-1 and followed it with a two-run home run to make it 7-1 in the second inning.
- AUM started to mount a comeback in the fourth inning when Chloe Derrick hit a two-run blast to right center field and Martin followed it with a solo shot to make it 7-4.
- GSW earned insurance runs off a two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth to make it 9-4.
- In the seventh, AUM tried to rally after scoring three runs off a RBI from Kat Fallen and Gia Martin his another two run homer, but it was not enough as the Warhawks fell 11-9 to the Lady Canes.
ON THE MOUND (GM 2)
- Sydni Free worked two innings and allowed seven runs on five hits.
- Rebecca Komers relieved Free and went four innings giving up four runs on seven hits.
UP NEXT
The Warhawks welcome Lee University to the AUM Softball Complex on Saturday, March 4 for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. in a Gulf South Conference series.
