CLINTON, Miss. -- Clay Slagle worked a complete game and allowed a single earned run in a 12-1 victory,
Lucas Baggett added a complete game shutout in his second start of the season, and the Auburn University at Montgomery baseball team swept the doubleheader and the weekend against Mississippi College.

GM 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- With two outs, Cole McWhorter sliced a single through the right side in the top of the second to plate a pair and open the scoring. Jackson Ceman then tacked on an RBI single to make it 3-0.
- Clayton Phillips added a sacrifice fly RBI and Kasey Clark clubbed a double with the bases full to plate three make it 7-1 AUM after four innings.
- The Warhawks plated five runs in the top of the seventh, behind a pair of bases-loaded walks from Jarren Wright and Phillips, an HBP by Ceman, and a two-run single by Brett Pitts.
GM 1 ON THE MOUND
- Clay Slagle (3-3) drew the start and notched the win in a complete game effort. He logged 7.0 innings and allowed a single earned run on five hits against two walks and four strikeouts.
GM 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- A trio of RBI singles in the third inning, from Ceman, Clark, and Brody Syer, helped the Warhawks to a 3-0 advantage.
- The Warhawks put a runner on base in the fourth and the sixth innings, but the Choctaws put zeros on the scoreboard.
- Mississippi College put a runner on base in the last of the seventh, but AUM held MC off the board to secure the sweep.
GM 2 ON THE MOUND
- Lucas Baggett (2-0) logged a complete game in his second start of the campaign. He struck out two Choctaws and allowed five hits in seven strong frames for the Warhawks.
NOTABLES
- Slagle notched the second complete game for an AUM pitcher in 2023, and Baggett logged the third of the year.
- In game one, eight different Warhawks scored at least one run, while five players drove in two or more runs.
- AUM registered just three extra-base hits on the day, with doubles from Zach Dew, Clark, and Wright.
- Slagle and Baggett combined to throw 14 innings of one-run baseball with just 10 hits and five walks allowed against six strikeouts.
- Baggett's start marked the third shutout of the season for the Warhawks, but the first complete game shutout by an AUM pitcher.
- AUM's 12 runs in game one marked the 12th game this season the Warhawks have scored double-digit runs, and back-to-back games with 12 runs against the Choctaws.
