OXFORD, Ala. - The Auburn University at Montgomery softball team fell short 4-3 on Thursday evening at Choccolocco Park against the No. 1 seed The University of Alabama in Huntsville in the second round of the Gulf South Conference Tournament.

HIGHLIGHTS
- The Warhawks struck first in the opening inning as Allie Miller scored on a wild pitch to give AUM an early 1-0 lead.
- Chloe Derrick drove in Miller in the fifth inning to give AUM a 2-0 lead.
- The Chargers put a run on the board in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI single to make it 2-1.
- AUM took a 3-1 lead in the top of the sixth frame when Chloe Baynes brought Olivia Aycock home.
- UAH scored a run on a passed ball and then a two-RBI single gave them a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning.
- The Warhawks got two runners on base in the final inning, but could not find a run as UAH earned the win.
IN THE CIRCLE
- Morgan Ferguson (L, 12-6) took the loss in the circle after tossing 5.1 innings and allowed four earned runs on seven hits.
- Avery Dickerson pitched the final two-thirds of the inning and did not give up a hit
UP NEXT
The Warhawks return to action in the loser's bracket of the GSC Tournament on Friday, May 5 at 12:30 p.m. against the University of Montevallo. The winner will take on the University of West Alabama at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 5.
