MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The Auburn University at Montgomery women's soccer team used a five-goal explosion to pick up its first win of the campaign on Sunday afternoon at the AUM Soccer Complex.
The Warhawks saw five different players tally a goal, including Madison Foshee, Sydney Garth, Lauren Akemon, Roser Badia, and Laia Gonzalez. AUM also totaled eight assists in the match.

HIGHLIGHTS
- The Warhawks got on the board in the sixth minute to take a 1-0 lead. Anila Mantello crossed a pass into the box that was headed by Akemon toward Foshee, who poked the ball past the keeper for the early advantage.
- Less than a minute later Laia Gonzalez found the foot of Garth, who ricocheted a shot off the crossbar to make it 2-0 AUM.
- AUM created a handful of other first-half chances, but the score stood 2-0 in AUM's favor at the break.
- In the 61st minute, Lauren Akemon chipped home a laser from well outside the 18-yard box to bag her first goal of the season.
- Badia found her first career goal for the Warhawks in the 79th minute, as she took a pass from Gonzalez and snuck it past the keeper to make it 4-0 Warhawks.
- The final goal of the afternoon came from Gonzalez, who cleaned up a Garth shot that glanced off the crossbar.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Warhawks registered 36 shots in the match to just three for Albany State.
- Lady Rams goalkeeper Daphne Estrada totaled 15 saves, including 10 in the second half.
- AUM put together its highest-scoring effort since a win over Shorter University on Oct. 22, 2021.
- Laia Gonzalez posted her first multi-assist effort in black and orange and ended the match with four points (one goal and two assists).
- Garth also tallied four points on the afternoon and leads the team with two goals this year.
- Karla Guzman-Ortiz saw her first action in goal and kept AUM's clean sheet in the second half.
- Badia scored her first career goal and earned her first career assist for AUM.
- Akemon and Foshee (one goal and one assist each) also earned their first points of the season.

- "I am proud of the girls today after a good overall team performance," said head coach Julianne Herrity. "It is always great to keep a clean sheet and have multiple goal-scorers. We'll look to keep that momentum going into our first conference matches of the season this upcoming week."
