MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Sydney Garth notched her first goal of the season one minute into the match, but a late goal from Georgia College and State University sent the visitors past the Auburn University at Montgomery women's soccer team 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at the AUM Soccer Complex.

HIGHLIGHTS
- A minute into the match, Sydney Garth scored her first goal of the season. A ball ricocheted to Laia Gonzalez, who poked a rainbow pass toward Garth into the box, who finished off the pass to give AUM a 1-0 lead.
- The Bobcats found an answer with a screamer from Aralyn Everett to even the match in the 53rd minute.
- The half closed out in a 1-1 tie, but GCSU found a go-ahead goal early in the second half.
- Mia Palumbo notched her first goal of the season with a laser from the right edge of the 18-yard box that proved to be the game-winner.

- The Bobcats outshot AUM 10-6 overall, including seven to five in shots on goal.
- Both teams combined for 28 fouls in a foul-laden match.
- Karla Gaytan made five saves in goal for the black and orange.
- Garth notched her eighth career goal for the Warhawks.

"We're disappointed not to get a result today," said head coach
Julianne Herrity. "Especially after getting ourselves a goal early. But, again, we can take some positive things from today. We'll get back to work this week and look to next week to get some positive results."
