MOBILE, Ala. - The 11th-ranked AUM men's soccer team played Spring Hill to a 2-2 tie on the road at Library Field on Friday.
AUM (5-0-5, 3-0-2 Gulf South) finished with nine shots and put four on goal. SHC () managed seven shots and put just two on goal, both of which got past the end line.
Sean Keane scored in the 25th minute to put the Warhawks ahead 1-0.
Landon Surratt tossed a long throw-in into the box where Keane flicked the ball into the left corner of the goal for his third score of the year.
The Badgers tie the game up with a score 12 minutes later. Alessandro Abate made a short pass from the right edge of the penalty area that Brett Stowe slipped past
Alfie Rule in goal.
That was the way it stood heading into the intermission. AUM went up again 12 minutes into the second half when
Logan Roach sent a long ball into the box. The ball appeared to have grazed the head of a SHC defender and went into the goal for an own goal.
SHC tied the contest at 2-2 with 7:34 to play when a free kick landed in a mass of players in front of the goal and then bounced off Alesandro Merlo's body into the goal.
AUM appeared to have scored another go-ahead goal with 3:12 remaining but was whistled for their only offside violation of the contest.
The Warhawks will make the hour trip east to Pensacola on Sunday to face West Florida at 3:00 p.m.
