MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The AUM women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to West Florida at the AUM Athletics Complex on Wednesday night.
AUM (4-11, 1-5 Gulf South) was led by
Maya Thompson's 10 kills and five total blocks. The Warhawks hit .103 and had five service aces.
UWF (11-5, 6-0) hit .327 and dug 63 balls compared to 44 for AUM. The Argonauts also had seven blocks. Kumara Flanagain had 13 kills on .478 hitting and two block assists.
SET 1
After falling behind 9-4, the Warhawks used a 7-1 run, including four-consecutive
Campbell Gash as the home squad took a 12-11 lead. UWF fought back and scored four-straight in taking a 19-18 advantage. The Argos won the set 25-19, taking advantage of four AUM errors in the final six points.
Maya Thompson had five kills and a block solo for AUM.
SET 2
UWF rode a pair of 5-0 runs en route to an 18-9 lead. The Argos hit .310 for a 25-15 set win. Kumara Flanagain led UWF with five kills.
SET 3
AUM started slowly and fell behind 12-4 before pulling to within 16-12. The Argos scored three-straight to halt the Warhawks' momentum and held on for a 25-17 win. Thompson kept the Warhawks active on the scoreboard, collecting four kills and three block assists.

AUM returns to the court this weekend with a pair of matches at Lee and Trevecca Nazarene. Friday's match with the Flames in Cleveland, Tennessee is at 6 p.m. ET.
