Box Score MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Chappelle Whitney scored 22 points to lead four players in double figures as AUM defeated Georgia College, 84-76, at the Centennial Center on Wednesday.

AUM (2-1) shot 46.2 percent from the floor, including 53 percent in the second half. The Warhawks led by two at the intermission and then opened the second half with a 16-10 stretch to extend the margin to double digits. It stayed around 10 until the final two minutes when GC started playing with more urgency. But Whitney scored the team's final four points and Sam Youngblood stole the ball on the Bobcats' final possession to secure the victory.

Whitney scored 13 points in the second half and finished with 8-of-9 for the contest. Malachi Rhodes had 16 points and seven rebounds, while drawing eight fouls from the GC defenders. Youngblood had 13 points with three 3-pointers and Arion Lews added 11 points and five assists. Trent Coleman led all players with 14 boards.

The first half was a back-and-forth affair that saw 10 lead changes and seven ties. AUM trailed 15-3 just over six minutes into the contest before grabbing a 26-25 lead with 5:30 to play. 

GC (0-3) got 28 points from Zyair Greene, who made seven of the team's 10 triples. AUM was 7-of-22 from outside.

The Bobcats outrebounded the Warhawks, 46-39, but the Orange and Black scored 20 points off 15 GC turnovers.

AUM will return to action on Saturday afternoon in Nashville, Tenn. against Lincoln (Mo.). Tip-off at the Fisk University Gymnasium is at 2 p.m.
