MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Auburn University at Montgomery Women's Basketball (2-3, 0-0) picked up its second straight win after outscoring Spring Hill (1-4, 0-0) 67-55 on Tuesday afternoon.
AUM picked up its second straight win led by
Gabby Litvak's first career double-double. The Junior from Dunwoody, Ga. totaled a career-high 15 points and a career-high 10 rebounds on 4-8 from behind the arc.
Spring Hill opened the game on an 8-0 run before AUM got on the board with a layup from
Carrington Jones. The freshman also added a pair of steals for the Warhawks in the first quarter to trim the lead 15-12 headed into the second quarter.
Litvak shot 3-3 from behind the arc in the second quarter to put AUM ahead by four, 29-25 at the under 4-minute media timeout. The Warhawks controlled a 10-point lead going into halftime, led by Jones with 10 points, four assists and two steals.
AUM scored eight fast break points in the third quarter compared to the zero by the Badgers to hold a nine-point lead headed into the fourth.
Spring Hill stormed back in the fourth and cut the lead 58-55. AUM was able to hold the Badgers off and secure its second straight win.
AUM returns after Thanksgiving break by hosting Trevecca Nazarene Thursday, December 5 with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m. CT.
