MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Auburn University at Montgomery opened the 2024-25 season with a 92-78 loss to Embry-Riddle on Friday at the AUM Athletics Complex.
The Warhawks (0-1, 0-0) trailed the Eagles (1-0, 0-0) in the first quarter 25-16 despite a 10-2 run to start the game by AUM, led by
Samya Brooks with eight points early in the game. The Eagles started off the second quarter shooting a near 60% from the field and took an 18-point lead. The Eagles entered the half up 37-29.
Coming out of the locker room, the Warhawks trailed by 21 before Brooks added to her point total. The third quarter was the most efficient for the Warhawks who scored 24 in the quarter. The Eagles went into the fourth quarter leading by 23 in the opening game of the season.
Allasha Dudley looked to lead AUM after scoring 10 points to start the fourth quarter on two made threes and brought the Warhawks within 15 points. The Eagles lead would be too much to overcome as the Warhawks fall in the season opener 92-78.
Dudley, a first-team All-GSC selection paced AUM with 24 points, while Brooks was the second highest scorer at 19 points. Dudley, the senior from Montgomery, scored 10 straight points to open the fourth quarter on 4-4 from the field.
AUM will return to action tomorrow for its final game of the GSC-SSC Crossover Classic. The Warhawks will face Nova Southeastern at the AUM Athletics Complex, tip-off set for 1 p.m. CT.
