AUM women's volleyball star
Maya Thompson has been named First Team All-Region as announced by the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association on Wednesday.
Thompson was one of the top middle hitters in the region as she was one of twp on the first team and four overall among the South Region.
The senior from Chicago, Illinois finished the regular season second in the GSC with 424 points and 3.79 points per set. She recorded the seventh-highest hitting pct. among league players with .297 while her 3.11 kills per set were fourth and her 92 total blocks were sixth.
She ended the year with 20 double-digit kill matches and had at least four blocks in a match 13 times.
She is the first first-team all-region pick in program history, following
Kaleigh Fitzgerald's second team award from last season.
