CLEVELAND, Tenn. -- The No. 17 Auburn University at Montgomery softball team picked up a Gulf South Conference victory on Sunday afternoon at Stanley Butler Softball Field against Lee University by a final score of 8-6.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Gia Martin hit a solo home run in the second inning to give the Warhawks a 1-0 lead.
- Faith Wheat got on base with a single and Whitney Wells hit a two-run homer to left center field to make it 3-0 in favor of AUM in the second.
- Lee scored four runs in the third and hit a two-run homer in the fourth and took a 6-3 lead.
- Haley Ann Frank hit an infield single to get the fifth inning started and Molly Cobb blasted a homer that scored Frank and AUM found themselves down one run at 5-6.
- Kat Fallen hit a single to kick off the seventh inning and Martin stepped in and hit a homer down the right field line to make it 7-6.
- Wheat was walked and Wells brought her home with a single through the left side to make it 8-6.
- Lee got one runner on base with a double, but a fly out ended the game as AUM captured the 8-6 victory.
ON THE MOUND
- Avery Dickerson got the start and tossed three innings. She allowed six earned runs on seven hits. She struck out two batters and walked a pair.
- Alanna Goble (W, 8-3) earned the win in relief and tossed four complete innings striking out 10 of the 16 batters she faced out. She gave up just one hit.
UP NEXT
The Warhawks travel to Columbus State University for a midweek doubleheader on Tuesday, March 19 with the first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m. in Columbus, Georgia.
