MONTEVALLO, Ala. -- The No. 16 Auburn University at Montgomery softball team completed the sweep over University of Montevallo on Saturday afternoon at Orr Park to close out the 2024 regular season by final scores of 8-0 and 6-2.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Molly Cobb cranked out a home run in the third inning for the Warhawks first run of the game to make it 1-0. It was her ninth of the season.
- Chloe Derrick hit her second homer of the season in the fourth frame to make it 2-0.
- Derrick reached first base on an error in the sixth inning and was able to score Margaret Morgan. Which sparked a six run inning for AUM.
- Shelby Newsome scorched a double to left center field and scored Derrick and Rebecca Komers.
- Kat Fallen singled up the middle and scored Haley Ann Frank and Newsome to make it 7-0. Gia Martin hit a double on the right field line and brought Cobb home to go up 8-0.
IN THE CIRCLE
- Brinkley Yevak (W, 7-2) worked six innings and gave up no runs on two hits. She struck out a pair of batters and did not record any walks.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Frank registered a single to center field and scored Chloe Baynes in the first frame to get the scoring going for AUM.
- AUM did not score again until the fourth frame as Fallen hit a home run to center field to go up 2-0.
- Fallen reached base on an error as Baynes scored and Fallen was able to go around all the bases and score the fourth run on the game for the Warhawks.
- Montevallo scratched one run in the fifth off a RBI-single to make it 4-1.
- Faith Wheat hit a single to left field and Lexie Bullock came home and scored AUM's fifth run of the game.
- The Falcons got a run back in the sixth off a solo homer.
- Derrick singled to left field and brought home Martin as she scored the final run of the game.
IN THE CIRCLE
- Chelisa Newsome (W, 5-1) earned the win in seven innings allowing two runs on three hits. She struck seven batters out and did not walk any batters.

Scottie Wilkes said. "Our offense scored a lot of runs and our defense and pitching was solid. We are looking forward to the GSC Tournament!"
UP NEXT
The Warhawks begin action in the GSC Championships on Wednesday, May 1 against an opponent that is yet to be determined.
