  • RH Frankland and Jarren Wright then each delivered a two-out RBI single to help the Warhawks push the lead to 4-2.
  • Montevallo got a two-out RBI double in the bottom of the sixth to get within a run, but could not draw any closer.

GM 2 HIGHLIGHTS
  • A second-inning double and a third-inning two-run home run put Montevallo ahead 3-0.
  • The Warhawks got no-hit through the first three innings, but a Tyrese Rooks single put one in the hit column for AUM.

  • The Falcons got the run back with a lead-off home run in the bottom of the fourth to provide the game's final run.

  • Michael Myers turned in 1.2 no-hit innings of relief with one strikeout.
MANAGER'S CORNER
  • "Disappointed in our approach to the game this weekend," said head coach Franklin Bush. "We let some outcomes affect our emotions and that took us out of some at-bats and innings. We have to find more maturity in those moments and compete at a higher level. We will work on those things this week as we prepare to compete for a championship. Our goal will always be to get better every single day. We knew if we did that, we would have an opportunity to compete for a championship in May. Here we are. Let's get better and go compete."
NOTABLES
  • The Warhawks secured 30 victories in a season for only the second time since joining the ranks of NCAA Division II. It's the 25th 30-plus win season in program history for AUM.
  • Kasey Clark (single) and RH Frankland (single) extended their team-best reached base streaks to 21 consecutive games in game one. Clark kept his streak alive with a walk in game two to make it 22 straight games he has reached base.
  • Jarren Wright collected the only multi-hit game for AUM in the front half of the doubleheader.
  • Rooks, Doughman, and Dew were the only three Warhawks to collect a hit in game two of the doubleheader.
  UP NEXT
  • The Warhawks prep for the upcoming Gulf South Conference tournament, which begins on Friday, May 3 at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala.
