MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The Auburn University at Montgomery softball team enters the Gulf South Conference Championship as the No. 2 seed in the field and they will take on the No. 7 seed University of West Alabama in the opening round on Wednesday, May 1 at 12:30 p.m. at Chocolocco Park in Oxford, Alabama.
AUM is making the program's fourth consecutive appearance in the GSC Tournament.

GSC IN THE NCAA SOUTH REGION RANKINGS
- The Warhawks enter the conference championship ranked No. 3 in the region. Mississippi College is No. 2, West Alabama is No. 6 and University of West Florida is at No. 7. Valdosta State University is currently outside of the field at No. 9. The top eight teams will advance to the NCAA South Regional and the top two teams will host the opening round. The next batch of rankings will be released on Wednesday, May, 1 and the NCAA Selection Show will air on Monday, May 6.

FIVE ON THE WARHAWKS
- Chloe Baynes is GSC leader in hits at 77. She owns a batting average of .467 which is second in the conference. She has hit three doubles and a pair of triples. She is third in runs scored at 67.
- Senior Kat Fallen is second in the GSC in runs batted in with 67 on 61 hits. She has hit 13 home runs this season and is at 41 in her career.
- Gia Martin is leading the team in home runs at 17 this season and is AUM's all-time leader in home runs at 52. The Bowling Green, Kentucky native has a batting average of .353 and has driven in 49 runs on 47 hits.
- Molly Cobb has been strong for the Warhawks with 55 runs batted in on 49 total hits. She has nine homers this season.
- Graduate senior pitcher Alanna Goble has lead the charge in the circle for the Orange & Black with an ERA of 2.52. She has struck out 112 batters this season in 108.1 innings of work. Goble has a career record of 51-11 and tossed 39 complete games in her career.
FIVE ON THE FIELD
- West Alabama's Marissa Mitchell leads the conference in runs batted in at 79 on 66 hits. She has homered 22 times.
- Union University's Lainey Baker owns the conference's best ERA at 2.41. She has registered 152 strikeouts.
- The No. 1 seed is the Lady Choctaws of Mississippi College and they have a trio of pitchers that carry an ERA of lower than 3.00 into the tournament. Brookelyn Cannon, Camryn Bailey, and Madison Jenkins have combined for 300 strikeouts.
- Valdosta State University's Abby Sulte leads the conference in home runs as she has 29 this year. She has batted in 63 runs on 53 hits.
- The University of Alabama in Huntsville's Alexa Douthitt has the GSC's best batting average at .468. She has 72 hits and 14 of them have left the stadium. She has scored 54 runs and batted in 59 runs.
