MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Auburn University at Montgomery Women's Basketball (6-10, 4-7) improved in the GSC standings with a win over Valdosta State (10-7, 5-6) 67-62.
Allasha Dudley added her seventh 20-point game to lead AUM with 28 and none bigger than her layup with 20 second to go in the game to put AUM ahead by two possesions.
Danielle Luckey also added 11 rebounds and
Samya Brooks with 14 points and eight rebounds.
As a team, AUM led for almost 35 minutes of Saturday's game. The Warhawks outrebounded the Lady Blazers 38-28.
AUM came out with a lot of energy in Saturday afternoons game and jumped out to an early 17-7 lead. Dudley nailed three, 3-pointers on that run. The Warhawks exploded for 23 points on 63% shooting and 75% shooting from 3-point, while outrebounding Valdosta State 12-4.
After outscoring the Lady Blazers 23-9 in the first quarter, VSU came out in the second on a 13-0 run. The Warhawks would still lead 31-28 at halftime.
AUM came out with an 8-0 run in the third quarter, but VSU stormed back to tie the game at 49 headed into the fourth.
The Warhawks outscored the Lady Blazers in the fourth 18-13and shot 64% to hold on and win the game 70-68.
AUM will return to action on Wednesday, January 23 at Lee.
