NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Auburn University at Montgomery Women's Basketball (8-10, 6-7) picked up the win on the road at Trevecca (6-13, 3-10) 67-60, led by
Carrington Jones career-high 21 points.
AUM exploded in the third quarter and outscored Trevecca 20-7 to jump out to a nine-point lead that would carry them to the win on the road.
AUM trailed by a pair at the end of the first quarter after being outscored in the paint 10-2. The Warhawks were able to take advantage of second-chance points in the first to keep the Trojans lead manageable.
Jones paced the Warhawks early on with eight, first quarter points and picked up her 12
th to give AUM the lead in the second. As a team, AUM outrebounded Trevecca 16-6 midway through the second quarter. Trevecca went into the half with a 36-32 lead.
The Warhawk defense stepped up in the third quarter and held the Trojans to just seven points to end the quarter up nine, 52-43.
The Trojans opened the fourth on a 7-0 run before Jones ended that run to put AUM back on top with her 18
thpoint. A new career-high for the Freshman from Bartlett, Tenn.
AUM held on to win on the road at Trevecca 67-60.
AUM will return home on Jan. 30 to host Delta State at 5:30 p.m. CT.
