VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks women's soccer team (1-9-2, GSC: 0-6-2) began the first of three-straight road contests against the Valdosta State Blazers (2-7-4, GSC: 1-6-1); however, the Warhawks came up short in a 7-0 loss Saturday afternoon in Gulf South Conference action.
Aisling Roche led the attack with three total shots and two shots on goal.
Chloe Wallace and
Lucy Thomas both registered shots.
Karla Guzman-Ortiz finished the match with 15 saves against 22 shots faced.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
The Blazers scored in the 7th minute when scored Kaitlyn Scherer low center on an assist from Maria Rojas. Just a few minutes later, Jenni McIntosh scored low center unassisted to move the score to 2-0. Jada Narcisse wrapped scoring in the first half with a goal assisted by Isabelle Allen in the 40th minute.
Second Half
During the second half, Victoria Bahr scored in the 58th minute with an assist from Scherer. Scherer later grabbed another assist in the 66th minute as she passed to Kayleigh Kearns for the score. Then in the 70th minute, Rojas grabbed a goal unassisted to move the score to 6-0. Tatyana Machado capped scoring in the 86th minute with an assist from Taylor Youmans to move the score to the 7-0 final.
UP NEXT
AUM waits until Friday, Oct. 24, to travel to Jackson, Tennessee, to face the Union University Bulldogs at 5 p.m. in GSC action.
